Evening Folks :D
« on: May 10, 2006, 11:25:49 AM »
Seeing as this is a more techy website, and me like me C'lets - I thought I'd sign up  :P

I've got a cally T - recently rebuilt myself:-

"On gas"  it'll be i the region of 400bhp  :-\

During the summer it's under going some extra work to see 400+bhp with N20 on top.

Interesting ;)  I'll be happy if the Evo360 does what it says + nitrous.  what times would a 450bhp or 500bhp turbo do (0-60, 1/4 and top speed)?

Welcome dude! I want to add some Nitrous, but is that stuff realistically going to damage my little 2.0i 16v?

well with a buring clutch and 294bhp I ran a 5.7 0-60 last summer so that could be improved on with a better clutch (so call it 5.5)

With another 100-200bhp I guess that will be taken down into the 4's for 0-60

1/4 mile - low 12's maybe 11's if traction is good

I'm basically adding :-

RobbieS manifold
GT30R turbo
Side exit 3" exhaust (through side of front bumper)
750cc injectors
Catcam high lift cams
Solid lifters & shims
Verniers
DTA S60 Pro management or Omex 600 (not 100% which)

With good fuel and a fair bot of boost and a map - it should see 400+bhp at the fly

No not in the slightest - if professional setup by persons who KNOW what they are doing, you can safely see over 100bhp used on the XE engine.

Gaz'd (mig) is now running 200bhp worth of nitrous in his corsa :)

artful, but that 200bhp of gas keeps blowing something from his engine/gearbox, however the WON progressive kit would be great for a 2.0 16v :)

Purely because it's "unknown" territory.....100bhp of gas is childs play on progressive and an XE

Matt, how fecking loud is your exhaust going to be! surley that would be like putting the downpipe on sideways with it sticking out the side of the front bumper...

wont the noise cause probs on the road / track?

Reason is ......

With so much air being pushed into the engine from the GT30 - you get boost surge because the cylinders don't clear out quick enough.

So to enable the turbo not to suffer damage from the surge, and to allow the engine to consume more air at high rpm - you make the exhaust as less restricitve as possible.......So like RA developments Evo - straight out the side and no messing :)

It's not a daily runner so not too worried about noise ;)

True true, can barely get moving now without wheels spinning. So if I were to head for a Nitrous Kit, in theory could I (relatively practical!) fit a 50bhp kit myself? TFS whats the costs of such a kit?
