dashboard / door card flocking discount organised for november
« on: October 18, 2011, 18:38:47 PM »
I have currently got a group buy organised on Vauxsport for discount on flocking for dashboards / door cards etc. It is from autoflock motorsport who do dashboards for both world rally championships and btcc.

The largest and most expensive dash they have done so far is for a mitsubishi evo and was only ?150 so not really expensive.

Anyone interested let me know.

Flocking?

Its what they use in motor racing, its a finish that reduces reflection and glare from the sun etc.

God, I wish you hadn't started this thread. I'm really up for a flocked dash but first I need a new steering rack, new rear discs and pads etc. etc - as well as the money the Z20NET conversion is costing.
Going by the EVO price I could get my dash done for less cost than the new intercooler pipes.
This is going to be hard to resist but I'm going to have to fight the urge....... but I have no will power.

well he said the realistic price for a calibra dash would be 120, but he hasnt done 1 before and hes not aware of any that have been done before so he cant say for sure.  That being said, he will do 10% discount for 1-5 people (already saving ?15 off the max price) and 20% for 6-10 people.  Autoflock has a courier service that costs ?15 postage each way to autoflock, or you can drive your car there and they do a drive in/drive out service.

I'm going to have to pass on it - realistically I just cannot afford another financial diversion at the moment as I really need to get the steering and brakes done in the next couple of weeks.

That's cheap, presumably they remove/refit the dash?
Would look cool with black door panels too!

yeah they remove / fit the dash for you in that instance, but i think the cost of 150 is if you supply them the dash out the car.

I dunno what the fuss is really, I took my dash out from being completely installed within about 2 hours, and so did kevcalibra. Its not that bad really.

I was there with Dan for some of it.
The thread did it justice. Not something I would choose to do.
This forum needs more banter

if you join then we have 6 people so would have 20% discount. let me know if you interested and what else you would want doing in addition to the dash and il add you to the for sale thread.  Dont put your name down though if you wont be ready to have it done in november though because otherwise there is no point.

When in novemeber?

i believe then if you are in the discount group then they have to receive the dash during november, as he offers discounts to different websites for different months so he would have a different website to do during december. If you are interested then take the 30 seconds to join vauxsport and the thread is in the 'general technical section' and its called autoflock flocking november discount. With the stuff you are doing to your car then you would do well being part of that website anyways.
