Cam Belt

just wondering if anyone has any links or advice on what to lookout for when the belts on it's way out

when i brought my car it had no history on it, but it's in good nick so glad i brought it, just after i went to preston at the weekend and clocked alot of milage i cant help but be worryed about when it might go, i usually only drive it from A to B around my local town.

If your that concerned then get the cambelt changed asap.

A good sign is if the belt is full of little cracks, twist the belt with your forefinger and your thumb. The general guide is you should be able to turn it about 90 degress but no more, this means the belt is at the correct tension.

Bugger that! I think changing it is a small price to pay, instead of the sh*t that it could cause if it were to go! 
Get it changed asap mate, if you dont know when it was last done!

well i did what you said, stright away it looks brand new and i couldnt even turn it 90 it was that tight so im guessin it will be ok for quite some time yet
