Calibra Turbo f28 gearbox
« on: February 05, 2016, 20:14:19 PM »
Does anyone know where I can get a good f28 gearbox from? My car has been away for 3 months with a gearbox company who were going to rebuild but can't find the parts so need a good f28 gearbox for me LE. Must be 4x4 electronic type but I hear the mechanical will work fine. Can anyone confirm?

What parts are they/you looking for? If you hunt for Opel F28/6 on ebay you turn up quite a lot of F28 spares from Germany including shaft seals, bearings etc. Or there's this listing on Ebay selling an F28/6 for spares: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vauxhall-Calibra-F28-6-speed-gearbox-C20LET-/371546831109?hash=item5681eab905:g:hqQAAOSw5dNWskk8 (item number is 371546831109 in case you have to manually search) Otherwise you'll have to hunt around, might take a while - I think the F28 is getting rarer.. and finding a half decent one on a car probably not so simple.

Good luck!

Thanks, I saw that but gearbox place said my gearbox is completely knocked so def need another gearbox. So place in Germany called Gema I believe. They have a new gearbox but 2.2k so too expensive, and for parts, it's everything required so not worth rebuilding my current box - what a nightmare hey. Any other suggestions welcome.

Well the eBay item claims to be all but differential - or do you need that too? Otherwise I'd suggest a good Google session. You'll find more hits looking for Opel items, then you just need to google the right word like kaufen or einkaufen Opel f28/6 for German or köp Opel f28/6 fot swedish. Use translate.google.com and find the word buy in different languages, Dutch German and Swedish or Danish are probably good to start with. When you find hits you can use translate and enter the webpage and it will help translate for you. Just thinking you might find more hits the further afield you look. Will let you know if I find/come across anything.
