1997 V6 SE9 Clutch Cable
« on: November 08, 2011, 07:10:59 AM »
Help .

Cable snapped.  I understand this model had a longer then previous cable.  Part no is VX90522462.

Vauxhall, or should I call them Dick Turpin Automotive, want ?158.40 +vat. ?190 for a clutch cable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Anyone point me in the direction of a supplier who doesnt have the morals of an ally cat.

Help.

PM member chrisw on here. He sells cables for around ?40 and are the correct fitting (nipple type as opposed to earlier hook type)

I've had one myself and they are spot on.

Picked up the cable supplied by Chrisw.  A bit fiddly in the footwell getting that nipple in but all done and works fine.  A big thank you to Chrisw.

Agreed. The bulkhead clip is a pain too.  Is there a correct metnod of moving this clip. Filistine that I am, I couldnt work it out so 'eased' it away with a large screwdriver.  It didnt snap, and it works, but it would be interesting to know.  It had me stumped!

Cheers

Im with the big screw driver approach too mate don't worry :) i swore, kicked threatened the clip till it gave in then claimed victory until trying to get the thing back on :(

I think this was probably fit before the engine on the assembly line lol
