Oil change is pretty much the same as on most other cars.
Your profile says SE. I won't assume this is an SE(1) but SE's 1,3,4,5,6 & 7 were all 8v & the Ecotec has its filter in the same place: just behind the front of the front driver's side wheel. This is not the best location I have ever worked with but certainly not the worst either. You can get a removal tool for this, but if you are going to replace it anyway, why not drive a long screwdriver through it & turn it around with this? Just be careful not to damage the thread.
Start off by warming the engine then remove the sump bolt. You will need to raise the car to do this.
While this is draining (Flushing oil helps to make this quicker & will clean the internals of the engine).
Replace the oil filter. Partially fill the new one with oil to help it circulate more quickly. coat the new filter's seal with some fresh oil & tighten it by hand.

The capacity is about 4 litres. Semi synthetic 10W/40 is generally well trusted.
With a little practice, the longest part of the job is waiting for the old oil to stop draining.

If you are asking about this, I will not assume you have basic tools to hand. Required tools are: Jack, axle stands, socket set, filter removal tool (although as mentioned earlier a hammer & screwdriver will do the job). An oil drainer is useful but an old washing up bowl will do.
