Fault code readers on eBay
« on: March 20, 2015, 18:50:11 PM »
Hi ,read the thread earlier any more thoughts on what the best one is to get of eBay ,hand held  or the one you plug In your lap top?  Are they worth it ? Think hand held is a tenner lap top version 25 quid or better of with a box of paper clips for a pound?

Bought  the laptop  based Ds 150 version. So far, a dozen vehicles checked and diagnosed succesfully, only 1, isuzu 4x4 (vauxhall version) would not  speak to the ecu.
1year and still working well, not bad for the money.  :-)

Sorry for really late reply..... only just figured out how to check old posts. So, the ds 150 set up from ebay works very well. Managed to turn out airbag lights on a skoda fabia, clio, vivaro, transit. Sorted out various electronic issues with coil packs, flywheel sensors etc etc on astra g, fiesta, mini, zafira. It works really well. Quite suprised at how well for the money. It is the same ! Design as the DELPHI DS150, looks like it anyway. Would recomend it, but obviously its no good for the calibra  :-\

I bought a cheap hand held code reader off ebay cost about £15. It worked on our skoda but not with the calibra or frontera which i imagine are on an older system. There is a laptop based one which specifically says it works with vauxhall including calibra's and frontera's.
I have bought this but have not tried it yet.
