exhausts
« on: May 06, 2017, 22:01:03 PM »
Hello everyone time to get the car back on the road again trying to keep the car as standard as possible but fancying an upgraded exhaust on a budget. Is a sportex exhaust any good as most stainlesses seam to be rather expensive. I know you pay for what you get but what do you recommend for a v6 which sounds nice and actually fits look forward to hearing from anyone who could advise us

I have a Longlife cat back. Very nice.
Lewis Hamilton said that winning his first race felt better than having sex. Kimi's reply to that was, Maybe he never had sex.

Nearly two years ago I paid £590 (inc. VAT) for a PowerFlow exhaust and cat. It has a nice burble and have been told that it sounds remarkably like a V8. There was a choice of tailpipes although twin (one each side) exhausts would have added quite a bit to the cost and only changed the visual appearance. QuickFit had quoted me more for a mild steel one (!) and wanted 100% up front!  :(

It came from a c20let.  I imagine the point at which the downpipe finishes from a v6 will be different to a c20let, but i dont know.

2.5 inch diameter, including a sports catalytic converter that passes the mot but is less restrictive than a standard one.

Quad exit exhaust.  I was asking for £340 (sports cat costs £200 on its own) but I'm happy to take less than that for clubcalibra members. Happy to knock off some money too knowing you may need to adjust it depending where the downpipe meets.
