Error Code 48 - Battery Voltage Low
« on: October 14, 2016, 16:18:53 PM »
Hi all... just done a paperclip test and i'm getting an Error Code 48 - Battery Voltage Low but I have replaced the battery recently to try and eliminate this. I have also changed the Crankshaft Sensor, Idle Control Valve and Throttle Sensor and cleaned all of the earthing straps (That I could find). She runs ok but i'm still getting the same old Engine Management Light occasionally flash up, this stays on for longer periods if I run more things like, heated seats and windscreen as the voltage dial drops to around 12V...Could this be an Alternator Issue ?. Cheers for your advice, appreciate it. ;)

If it's dropping to 12v with engine running, and you have a good battery, then alternator or wiring to it.

Alternator.
Lewis Hamilton said that winning his first race felt better than having sex. Kimi's reply to that was, Maybe he never had sex.

Drive your car for about 15 minutes. Touch the connection of big red cable to the battery. If it's hot, then 100% this is a cable problem. It's hard to do but you need to solder all terminals of all cables incoming to the battery!
Long time ago I had this issue too and now 2 years later all is still ok.. The battery is charging exactly with 14.2V without exceptions!
