Breaking happens,
Needed a new bonnet for my Rio Verde V6, breakers wanted  £100 so I got a whole Rio Verde Ecotec (loom melted) for £220.
Fixed my sunroof and various other jobs including bonnet without spraying costs and still made £500 breaking it.

V6 had new clutch and alternator various little faults in my 2 years despite constant spending to improve it but when timing slipped causing limp mode I decided spend no more.

Couldn't get £650 I'd paid for it back despite romancers saying they'd buy and tlc it so broke it.

Very glad I did. £1650 back and a pile of spares left for my next one, helluva lot learnt about these cars and what to look out for next time.
