Price for spraying an irmscher spoiler?
« on: November 06, 2011, 17:50:47 PM »
What sort of price would i pay to have an irmscher spoiler sprayed? Its white at the moment, don't know if that helps in cutting down prep time ???

Rough idea really so i know if im being ripped off as iv never had anything sprayed.

I had my front Reiger apron sprayed and it cost ?60 but if you pay too cheap you end up paying twice IMO.
Prep is everything in these cases. Needs a good plastic primer putting on first so that the top layer adheres properly.
I can't put mine anywhere near a jet wash or the paint will come off hence I'm having a full respray!
I reckon a proper job with full prep, blending in to the main bumbper plastic primer, colour primer, base coat and laquer should be about ?150.
How much you been quoted?

150 is alot for a spoiler.  I think DIY is the way forward, no rattle tins though
Theres no replacement for displacement.

12 quid for paint and about ten for lacquer from Avon Auto Colours in Bristol, any paint supplier can mix it though. Then if you don't have any you'll need many sanding sheets, primer, G3, masking tape and preferably a mop too.

Very happy with it, I mopped it again a month or so later as I did put it back on too early and it rained ::) My only issue now is where I (stupidly) masked it up on the lip part (I should of gone much further down) I did go through the paint with the mop ;D so I have a tiny white mark on the very edge as I'd ran out of colour.
