Just been doing a bit of touching up on the dtm. Trying to keep the rot at bay!
Used Ratle can from my local Hal..... but colour match is crap.

Anyone have any idea where to get a Ratle can that matches original 474 colour?

A proper paint supplier, Halfords are, well, sh*t. Plus, your paint is prob 20 years old remember! Go to an independent and get a can made up.

Depends where you are in the midlands but autosupplies in bolsover near chesterfield will mix a spray colour while you wait or may post out to you worth a phone call.

There are paint suppliers on ebay that will mix a can for you might just give em a go

I got my paint from www.carpaintrepair.co.uk They supply single cans of main coat or you can get kits comprised of main coat, primer & laquer. Enter reg number or paint code. I entered reg & they couldn't find my car so I emailed their [email protected] & gave them my E286/96L (ceramic blue pearl) & a week later I got the kit.

It was good. I used the whole can of main coat & ordered another one but they sent me a metallic grey by mistake so I emailed them again with a pic to show the difference & they got another correct can out to me :) The cost for the deluxe 3 can kit was £33.97 including postage. They also sell preparation materials like graded sandpaper.

On Halfords for paint they can sometimes be very hit and miss. I bought a can for our X reg fronty (16 years old now) and it was perfect! But they didn't even have a match for my cally.  :(
Only thing is its cheap  ;)

Update on the color match saga!
Bought a rattle can through ebay from JTB supplies in Manchester.

I've gone over the Halfords disaster today and am very impressed with color match and finish.

Recommended!
