Over time.......it's got floppy
« on: February 01, 2012, 12:31:20 PM »
Age has caused it to go all floppy and saggy.

I've read that getting wood and doing some screwing can help the problem but does anyone here know of a more elegant solution?

I'm talking about my parcel shelf of course.

I know a few peeps have replaced the whole thing with an MDF version. I just re-inforced the underneath of mine with some pieces of dado (dildo) rail and sprayed it black

My shelf seems ok at the seat end, its the end at the back that has a big dip in it. Would a black piece of dowel stuck into the ridge on the underside (with No More Nails) do it?

I'm just concerned that anything too weighty is going to make the problem worse.

Can't see it in the pic but I have the same reinforcement at the back, no more droopiness!

Do you use the screwing method or do you go in for doing it the sticky way?

Gently rub viagra (gel version) into the parcel shelf and watch it stiffen.

Dunno, maybe Davey had been doing some extra hours as a male Escort, or something.

Hmmmmm, can't see that being much of a money spinner to be honest. Maybe a Trabant at best.
