Engine/Caliper Paint
« on: September 15, 2011, 14:29:24 PM »
What would you guys recommend for engine block paint and Cam covers? also need something for the manifolds and Calipers/brakes

Cant be too expensive. Some people on the internet say hammerite even for the block but I wouldnt trust it to hold out at the temps its gonna be up against on the engine itself.

I also need some advice on a colour scheme...

The car is Ceramic Blue

I'm going to be painting the subframe, front legs, engine block, calipers/brakes and cam covers and probably getting the inlet manifold polished or just painting it silver for the time being...

What would you guys think would go with the colour of the car for
Brakes/Calipers.
Front Legs/Subframe (just go black? Possibly Red?)
Engine Block and Cam Covers...

Heres a photo of the engine afew months ago.

Could some one possibly play around with the photos? ;D

I'm not very creative! Give us ya ideas lol
Cheers

Any VHT (very high temperature) paint should be fine.

It's not hard to find :)

I'd maybe go for a red or silver colour for the engine bay mate

Thank Christ for that!
Yeah I'd go with a metallic orange (same as the Focus ST)

Either do it subtle (black, silver or colour coded) for OE look or go lairy with bright colours (lime green, orange or yellow)

:)
