Parts Source Locations...
« on: January 21, 2011, 05:38:11 AM »
G'day Fellas,    I'm currently working on My Cally, I live in Perth and If I hear one more time from Holden the part is "obsolete" I'm gona end up on the news.

So anyone know of good holden Vectra, Astra or even Saab wreckers around town here in Perth or even nationally

Here's my thread http://www.clubcalibra.com/calibra-projects-and-builds/aussie-v6-cally-build/

Been letting my fingers do the walking and got to say not many vectra's or calibra's around..lol   came across one wrecker in Malaga wanted $100 each for meta rocka covers.

First year that Vectra's came on the scene here in Aus were '97   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opel_Vectra

Unfortunately we only got the 2.5, 2.6 and 3.2 litre variants so asking for 3 litre parts is often responded with "uuummm what year is that?"   lol

One bloke in Mildura Vic is chasing some Cams for me and has the 2.5 litre rocka covers going for $75 each.
Came across a couple 2 litre calibra bodies and one good engine on its own from Tony's wreckers in Perth.

Tonys are not too bad (and if they haven't got a part, they will go out and steal a car to strip!)
I'm having the same problem, but have found its easier to ship from UK than find anything local. You get used to shipping parts when you run anything vaguely unusual.
It really depends on what is wrong with it!

Hi Lads

Couldn't the Australian Owners get together  and order a load of parts from the UK and then split the shipping cost between them ?

Just an Idea

Cheers Lee

How come you're looking at body kits after you've put all that work in on yours?

^^Am I confusing you? :P   Truth is i use using the heat gun and left it in the car, walked away and it caught fire....                   cough

I'm just looking at options later on down the track, seeing what us Perthians can get here or not..  If my little project doesnt work..I'd like to think there's a back up too ;)

Apparently these guys can get the full factory one which I'm assuming is the same as the turbo model (1st pic) and also the later kit (2nd, 3rd pic)

As far as i know there were 2 Zender kits, one factory fitted and an after market one. Maybe someone can confirm that. The 1st photo i believe is the factory fitted one which i also believe came standard fit on all Holden Turbo Calibra's.
