Mates are telling met to go through a Holden dealership rather than Private sale - what do you think?
( I would never pay dealer prices here)

Holden dont know shyt about calibras and from my experience dont want anything to do with them anyway.. You better off going private and getting it checked out at a trusted garage along with asking owner plenty of questions on it..

not when you are paying like an extra 1500 for the warranty and even then holden dont stock any parts and will more than likely outsource to get the parts..

Mate works for a Merc dealership in QLD; reckons buying from a dealership will really help if I want a quick resale ie back to a dealer as private buyers shopping cheap are going for Asian cars.

What do you think, are Calibras easy to shift?

( I'm 50/50 at this stage to keep it or sell it after a few months)

clean tidy well looked after in good running condition are easy to shift..
things like faded paint, rough interior oil leaks make it hard...

That said you can sometimes pick up a cheap cali of ebay or trading post that is in good condition body wise because people here dont know how to fix or where to get parts..We obviously know we can get parts from autovaux fairly easy but most people dont know...

Mate of mine picked up a c20xe for $800 not running.. Previous owner thought fuel pump was stuffed.. turned out it was just a bad earth between battery and engine/chassis.. Car fired straight up and is now on the road..

if you want to talk to more people about it join

I did sometime back but haven't been on for a bit. User called 'bird'(?) was quite helpful on some V8 conversion tips.

That's the bloke.
He was the one who put me onto potentially using the Holden Adventura 4w drive system for a Calibra V8.

I'll have a proper look when I'm over there in Jan but pix like the one Chip just posted of the Monaro are distracting me as I think they are awesome cars for the £ ( or $).
Also depends on the bloke with the tools/ storage space in Aus, lol.
