What I'm trying to say is that the new car will probably be as close to the Insignia as the old one was to the Cavalier
I meant that out of the pics that Ash put up, the Insignia based coupe was the one being released and probably badged as the Calibra :-)
A new Calibra will never happen, Its just an idea on paper nothing more.
Opel and GM Europe CEO CEO Nick Reilly, the arrival of a newlarge Opel coupe confirmed. As a major source inspritatie as the spiritual successor to the OpelCalibration must be, in 2007, the GTC concept shown in Geneva. The concept car had a strong 320pk 2.8-liter V6 turbo engine in theto bottom, the same block recently made its way to the 9-5 and 9-4Xmodels has been found. The new coupe will however be more modestengine fitted, using the series to directinjected turbocharged engines in the Opel engine range has, whichnew car about 15 percent less power than it should betheoretical consumption of the Gran Turismo Concept model, says Reilly.Opel Calibra deleted in 1997 from its model range. Of the model arewill total about 250,000 copies sold.
We'll quote that in 2011 Translation of the above article:
So this is going to be an insignia with a saab engine and a calibra badge stuck on it?
I don't like it either. If they were going to make a new Calibra then it would look like this tasty concept
if they re-modelled the monaro with a slightly lower powered engine 3L with turbo that would be sweet, but not the insignia that is a horrible looking car.
Well the new Scirocco hasn't harmed the legacy, its a really popular car by all accounts.Come on guys, lets be a little more positive - at least it sustains the name 'Calibra' and will bring us some new members!
Due to the larger engine capacity and as a result a larger price tag, you won't be seeing many new members signing up with one even if they do make a newer version. Infact it's likely that you will see the arrival of a ClubcalibraMK2.com/net etc
