.com and .net users,
There's been a rift between members of the two communities for some time now, I admit that I personally haven't helped the situation, but nor have individuals from .net - its about time the entire situation was reduced to non existance and the two communities started to interact and perhaps not join forces, but at least show a truce and start helping each other.
This past few weeks I've realised that we have a major fanbase, high visitation statistics and I should start setting aside dedicated time together our team of moderators to provide our community with the features they have been asking for over the past few years, we've made a start via this new website and the best is yet to come. I appreciate that I've turned away help in the past and now regret it but I had my reasons.
No longer do I want to see posts squabbling over 'which is the best', no longer do I want to see our own site (of both communities) and work being criticised on either .com or .net, nor do I wish to see any members retaining negative thoughts or opinions over either site.
Tonight I emailed our database and have seen a rush of visitors coming back to .com, the database from our old site was of 7000 members (Big Gordy and EcosseM you are incorrect to assume this statistic is fiction), members from all over the world, a big thank you for giving us a chance and welcome back.
In summary, from now on .com and .net, as far as I'm concerned, are two websites in favour of the same subject working together for the same cause, no negative opinions or views should be voiced publically, everyone is entitled to their own opinion BUT it should be their OWN opinion not voiced online to disrespect anyone elses.
This will be enforced certainly on .com and I invite the moderators of .net to reply to this either via their own site or on here to agree a way forward without bickering and negativity.
Just had a cracking BBQ, a few beers and a relaxing few hours sat in front of the chimnea, guess its helps to clear the mind, if not choking me a little with the smoke!
'Cheers' to .com and .net and the future!
