Considering 95% of posts on here are non car related or some form of bitching and moaning, would it not be fair to suggest that the life span of Calibra's and relevant topics are slowly dying.

In the past few months, there have been only a handful of decent Calibra projects on the go. The site can remain open to support these few members, but will ultimatley end up like a chat site and the chances of attracting members will be less likely.

If we are going to get more decent car projects on the go such as the Audi RS4, the turbo'd Corsa and a few more I forget, Im sure they can run alongside the Calibra theme.

Being ClubCalibra means the site will always be aimed at Calibra's, but there is nothing wrong at all in my opinion with attracting new members or trying to at least keep old members with a non Calibra forum/ topic. I like many may never own a Calibra ever again. I may like them, but I can buy better for what I can afford. So technically there is nothing from keeping us here.

It would be great to see more car related posts and builds, and less of the rubbish that gets posted. It is a car forum, not a social networking site. And this is the only way we are going to expand and improve.

There are more calibras being scrapped, stripped, wrecked etc than there are calibras being put back on the roads, inevitably this means that calibras will become more scarce resulting in less new members as there are no cars to be purchased. Infact it will be the demise of community on here and .net over time if the forum is kept strictly as a calibra resource that only allows tech talk.
This leads to another issue in itself tho, if you allow loads of non calibra projects to appear on the main forum, this will basically be a non model specific forum :-\

Anyway Ings, not to have a pop or anything but you're hardly a big contributor to cc anyway.

Agreed, its the one/two liners that interrupt a decent thread that frustrate me - my advice, if you're going to reply to a thread, ask yourself whether anyone else reading your reply would really care, or find it useful.

We have to allow some spam Ash. Maybe as moderators we can try to cut the excess down.

If we cut spam altogether we will become .net version 2.0 :(

I think this site caters well as a specific car site as that is what attracts members compared to generic car forums.  I believe that any discussion regarding other cars is currently covered in the 'car related chat' section and it is regularly used for this, so i see no problem with it being left as it is tbh, everyone seems happy to put anything in that part of the forum if they want to discuss other cars :)

It won't be long before this place becomes that with people reminiscing over a car that was once called a Calibra, and becoming rarer and rarer with less and less owners :)

Every year the Calibra gets rarer and the likelihood of members signing up diminishes.

If we had nothing but technical threads and projects there would be a lot less site traffic.

We all hate too much spam but we do need some to generate traffic.
