At ClubCalibra.com, we (the moderators/admin) have always prided ourselves on decency, useful content, minimal spam but with an appropriate splashing of proportionate banter. Unfortunately, standards have sometimes slipped and caused offence and disputes, consequently I want to remind all users of their obligations as members of this FREE club.

We have a swear filter, it is in operation and will remove the visibility of offensive terms; however there is no automated method for us to filter images in the same way. So we request that no offensive imagery, including visual equivalents of swear words, is posted to the public forums - content that you deem not to be offensive may offend others OR cause complications for those browsing this site whilst at work, or with younger family members, please spare a thought for such context.

Inappropriate content will be removed and an admin note will replace it explaining why the content was not permitted. Repeated abuse will potentially result in Post Moderation being applied to your posts, constant abuse may lead to suspension, or even a permanent ban.

If you have over 1,500 posts, you'll have access to the 'Senior Lounge' (this will appear automatically for you), into which such content can be posted with minimal moderation, however please consider the content that you post before doing so to ensure that it will not offend other users.

Communities grow by embracing new members and making them feel welcome, we don't want to build an "old man's club" here, instead we want to continue to attract a fresh new member-base to expand the number of Calibras over which we can all drool therefore I suggest the following:

• We're all proud of our cars and the work that we might have put into enhancing/altering them. When someone posts pictures of their car, be constructive even if you don't like it, and consider that if you have nothing positive to say, perhaps don't say it.
  
• Avoid taking threads off-topic, it frustrates new and old users immensely, it also reduces the future usefulness of that topic to users searching for answers to questions. Banter and comedy is of course acceptable, but have consideration when posting to ensure that it will not frustrate the poster of the thread.
  
• If you find something offensive, use the 'Report to Moderator' button at the bottom-right of each post. Your report is strictly anonymous. Provide good reasoning as to why you find the content offensive and the actions that you would like to see taken.
  
• This site is provided for FREE, therefore you have NO right to demand, but you can certainly ask. If you do not like something or are dissatisfied with the way in which the site is run, put your thoughts and reasoning constructively in a PM to me.
  

This site has been running since 1996, it has helped and assisted thousands of users and experienced 10s of millions of page views. We're a success, so lets regroup as a team and ensure that this site remains a success for many more years to come.

Kind of puts it all into perspective at the end of the day, all Iv personally done is realise that if it wasn't for this forum I probably wouldn't still have a calibra and most importantly wouldn't of met the amazing group of now good friends I have up and down the country.

I'm willing to put past differences aside as what I said above means more to me than being stubborn about some rules I didn't agree with.

Just my opinion guys.

Agree with Butcher. Although im still relatively new to the calibra and the forum ( this year was only my second meet) couldnt have been made to feel more welcome even last year at my first meet.

I've been a member on a lot of forums (fora?) and some have had allocated sections for the more "risque" posts and any straying from that area with stuff that's offensive etc was dealt with very harshly with suspensions/bannings.
I think that this forum is full of some great people who all like a "bit of banter" and, sometimes, that can wander out of the comfort zone of some other members.
It is a shame that there's been these issues as I've found, in the main, that this site is incredibly helpful and welcoming to all new members (it certainly has been to me) and, as Butcher has stated, has probably been the reason some members are still driving Calibras that otherwise would've been too costly to keep.

This site has been an absolute Godsend to me and I'm sure other members would agree with me.

Now, can we please all just get the **** along and stop ******* about and acting like a big bunch of childish *****.

I fully support, and happy to comply with, the above mentioned Regulations...

Any decent person can see, that what you're asking for, is NOT unreasonable...

Usually when a New Member comes onto a Forum, they're seeking relevant information...

Personally, I'm more on the side of keeping things relevant, and less banter...

The Banter aspects, should have a Specific Category, away from the Technical...

That would then allow the Member, to use the site more effectively...

I have just removed posts from this thread.

The requests of this announcement topic are very clear, those that fail to understand or to interpret them with some basic common sense should find themselves a new forum or face Post Moderation applied to their profiles.

Just hoping that a slightly more relaxed angle is taken with the jokes subforum. My question would be that if a thread is labelled NSFW (not safe for work) would it be potentially alright to post or link something slightly 'edgier' but not in breach of the guidelines there already? Otherwise my funny crap thread would get me done as would a lot of that whole subforum.

I also intend to just post in my own thread there rather than keep filling that forum up with new lulz.

For my part these jokes or links will NEVER mean outright porn/terrorist material/illegal downloads/Justin Beiber/racist material.

No hate/no ****-stirring meant of course. Genuine 'set the tone' question.
