Hi all,

Bit of an odd announcement this time - I'm going to be doing a solo freefall parachute jump (AFF jump) from 15,000ft, I've never done anything like this before and so to make it worthwhile I'm collecting for sponsorship so as to give a big donation to Cancer Research UK, following the death of my Granddad a few years ago from Lung Cancer.

I've raised £250 so far in only a week and I'm looking to hit £1,000, therefore if everyone donates £10.00 to this worthy cause, we'll easily hit that figure.

I'd really appreciate your help, its a worthy cause and I'll be paying personally to get the entire jump video'd, I'll of course post that video onto here!

As it's for cancer, both parents died from this and my dog! count me in. I don't do facebook in anyway shape or form, send us a PM nearer the time. £10.

Thanks Alz, really appreciate it! Rather sad however that this post has received just over 90 views and yet only two have opted to donate towards this challenge and Cancer Research UK!!! Very disappointing!

Phil - £10.00. Like ALZ though, I don't do facebook - I think it would be a better idea if it could be done through the club site? Similar to buying the window stickers?

can i suggest you sety up a fund raising site through www.justgiving.com i used this site last year when me and a few mates did a sponsored drive from rouen to cabo da roca called the sucata run brill fun.

anyways the site is really easy to use and is totally secure.

Perhaps I should add a clause that states 'The highest donation wins Moderator Rights for a week', hehe.

sorry mate forgot to mention also that justgiving also run a giftaid ploicy so every £ donated 28p gets gift aided on top of the £ to the charity as well.

Yeah, I believe I can claim GiftAid upon donating it directly to Cancer Research UK but I'm calling tomorrow to find out - I can't use JustGiving unfortunately as they don't work with SkyDiveUK Ltd together with Cancer Research UK. Rather frustrating as its a good site.

I called today and after holding for about 10 minutes, finally spoke with a lady that gave me a different telephone number to call (Fundraising Department). I'll be sorting it tomorrow
