I had noticed, and, to be fair that is bloody cool beans!!!  ;D Damn handy when 'nudging' people on For Sales etc.
Lewis Hamilton said that winning his first race felt better than having sex. Kimi's reply to that was, Maybe he never had sex.

[member=545]ALZ1307[/member] definitely! Heading for a more usable interface :) You can also roll over the 'Profile' menu and select 'Mentions' to see where you've been mentioned.

Nice. As a user that predominantly uses my phone on this forum (full site not mobile version) the unread post and unread replies links are hard to hit on the small screen, I agree with [email protected] when they where side by side it was easier but not the end of the world.

Also the top sub menu links "home, forum, help, search ect fall right on the dark grass line of the picture banner on the home screen and aren't very clear, again this is on a phone but you do mentioned a more usable interface and mobiles are a missive part Internet use now.

Just my thoughts but very small issues. Good work.

Well, someone certainly doesn't like the site, here's a PM that I received earlier today from one happy customer...

Charming...

p.s. Who the hell is 'Fred', can anyone make any sense of this illiterate garbage?

Ash, you have a poor memory.

I am not sure if the user concerned was called Fred, but I think he may have been. For argument's sake, we shall stick with 'Fred' for now.
The incident in question was 1 day before a Billing meet, During our usual countdown before this, Dan posted a 1 as a single finger salute. I guessed somebody would post that & merely logged on to see who would get there first.
'Fred' was a user with a very small number of posts, 5 I think, & made a complaint about this image. As a result you suspended Dan's ability to post for a few days. Your logic for this was questioned & your reply was that you felt the forum would stagnate if fresh members were not encouraged.

You lost a lot of regular posters over that incident.
So what of 'Fred'? Has anybody heard of him since?

Nice one!

Seems the banner etc is an issue for some though, have to say it's fine on my phone too. I don't find the read/unread an issue either, but then, I don't have fat fingers  :P

I wasn't even using it on a mobile, but on a laptop.  I can see that it could be even trickier on a small touchscreen, especially with my fingers!

Also the top sub menu links "home, forum, help, search ect fall right on the dark grass line of the picture banner on the home screen and aren't very clear, again this is on a phone but you do mentioned a more usable interface and mobiles are a missive part Internet use now.
I sent Ash a screenshot from my laptop today illustrating this problem.  It might help if the tab names were in a larger font, or a different, more contrasting colour, or the tabs had a different colour background (the selected, orange, tab shows up well).

Just my thoughts but very small issues. Good work.
I agree, minor quibbles, but worth getting right to make the site more usable, especially on a mobile.

This is how I see it on mobile and laptop...

You know in each board you can hit 'new posts' on the left hand side right? If you find that easier?

Exactly!  How did you do that?  Anyway, not just me, but at least Butcher as well it seems.  Ash thought I might have it zoomed in or out, but it is at 100%. :(

As per e-mail, it wasn't a 'pic', just captured as 'Prt Sc' and pasted in to the e-mail.

My photo bucket links aren't working like they used too? Why is it re directing to photo bucket site to view pic? It used to just come up big on the thread.

Ash, you have a poor memory.

I actually have a good memory .rip, but only for incidents that are worth recalling. A new member of the site complained about something that he found to be offensive, we act on all reports, as would any responsible forum management team. It was not this incident alone that resulted in Dan's 2 day ban. Regardless, if members 'left' because of it, good - we don't wish to attract members that disregard offending other members.

It's history, move on, get over it, if anyone else still has an issue, feel free to delete your account.

Nice one!

[member=545]ALZ1307[/member], [member=15964]Butcher[/member], [member=21171]j[/member]@z, thanks all for your feedback, this is rather odd but I'll investigate the following:

- Make the links in the header banner more visible/clear so as to stand out against the background.
- Check the alignment of the navigation strip on some browsers (I can't recreate...but will try and resolve it).

I'll come back to you!
